  • 1 box vanilla or yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 450 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup strawberry puree or chopped strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, mix the cake mix, melted butter, and egg; then press this mixture into a greased baking dish.
  2. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla, then mix in the melted butter and powdered sugar. Fold in the strawberry puree or chopped strawberries.
  3. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake base and spread it evenly.
  4. Bake for 40–45 minutes; the center should remain slightly gooey.
  5. Allow the cake to cool completely before slicing into squares.
  6. Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

For a unique twist, you can use fresh strawberries for the puree or try different fruit purees like raspberries or blueberries.
