Description

A rich chocolate cake paired with creamy, Oreo-infused frosting, perfect for any celebration.


Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cups Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups Brown sugar, packed
  • 1 cup Buttermilk
  • 0.5 cups Vegetable oil
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Boiling water
  • 15 Oreo cookies, crushed (Plus extra for garnish)
  • 1 cup Unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 10 Oreo cookies, crushed (For mixing into the frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large bowl.
  3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Pour in the boiling water and mix until the batter is smooth.
  5. Fold in the crushed Oreo cookies.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Beat together the softened butter and powdered sugar until creamy for the frosting.
  10. Add vanilla extract, heavy cream, and crushed Oreo cookies, mixing well until fluffy.
  11. Once the cakes are completely cooled, frost the top of one cake layer, place the second layer on top, and frost the top and sides of the entire cake. Garnish with extra crushed Oreo cookies.

Notes

For better results, use room temperature ingredients and do not overmix the batter.
