Description

A traditional Italian-American dish featuring crispy breaded chicken cutlet topped with rich marinara sauce and melted cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip in beaten eggs, and finally coat with breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry chicken until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  5. Transfer the chicken to a baking dish, top with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Serve hot with a side of pasta or salad.

Notes

For extra flavor, add fresh basil on top before serving.
