Description

A traditional Hawaiian dish featuring a juicy beef patty over rice, topped with a fried egg and rich brown gravy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup brown gravy
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce or soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Cook the rice according to package instructions.
  2. Form the ground beef into patties and season with salt, pepper, and optional ingredients.
  3. Cook the patties on a grill or skillet until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F, about 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Fry the eggs sunny-side up in a separate pan.
  5. Assemble by placing the rice on a plate, topping it with the beef patty, the fried egg, and pouring the gravy over the top.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute brown rice and leaner meat. Feel free to customize the protein in the patty.
