- 1 medium onion, chopped
- ¾ cup ketchup
- 1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar
- 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 ½ teaspoons prepared yellow mustard (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks.
- Add the chopped onions to the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes until soft.
- Combine the ketchup, vinegar, brown sugar, and mustard (if using) in a bowl and mix well.
- Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef and onions, stir to coat, and reduce heat to low.
- Simmer the mixture for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve on soft buns, over rice, or with your favorite side dishes.
