- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter with granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in another bowl. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9 to 12 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are slightly underdone.
- Sprinkle with flaked sea salt if desired and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
