Description

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250g) All-Purpose Flour
  • ¾ cup (75g) Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
  • 2 cups (400g) Granulated Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking Soda
  • 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large Eggs
  • 1 cup (240ml) Buttermilk
  • ½ cup (120ml) Vegetable Oil
  • 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) Hot Coffee
  • 1 cup (170g) Milk Chocolate Chips
  • ½ cup (120ml) Heavy Cream (for Milk Chocolate)
  • 1 cup (170g) White Chocolate Chips
  • ⅓ cup (80ml) Heavy Cream (for White Chocolate)
  • 6 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream
  • Extra Chocolate Sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Generously grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt until uniform.
  3. Add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually stream in the hot coffee until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Cool the cake completely on a wire rack before glazing.
  8. For the milk chocolate glaze, heat heavy cream and pour over the chocolate chips, stirring until smooth.
  9. Repeat for the white chocolate glaze, adjusting cream as needed.
  10. Invert the cooled cake and glaze with milk and white chocolate ganaches.
  11. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with extra chocolate sauce.

Notes

For best results, let the cake sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before serving to allow the ganache to soften.
