Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • Sprinkles or colored sugar (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla and almond extracts.
  4. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just blended. If desired, fold in sprinkles or colored sugar.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow the cookies to cool for a few minutes, then dust them with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. They can also be frozen for up to 3 months.
