Description

Crispy Chicken Fritters are savory, satisfying patties made from shredded or canned chicken, perfect for a quick, family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 25 ounces leftover shredded chicken or thoroughly drained canned chicken
  • 1 large egg
  • ¼ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • ⅛ teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Cooking oil, for shallow frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the chicken, egg, breadcrumbs, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and thyme in a large mixing bowl. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into 6 medium-sized patties or 12 smaller fritters.
  3. Heat the oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Fry the patties in the hot oil, leaving space between them.
  5. Flip them to fry the other side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain the finished fritters on paper towels and serve immediately.

Notes

Use canned chicken? Make sure to press it to remove excess water. Pair with a salad or dipping sauce for best results.
