Description

A heavenly dessert combining sweet strawberries with a rich custard layer, perfect for any celebration.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 cup custard (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
  3. Gradually add the flour and milk, alternating between the two, until well combined.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  5. Allow the cake to cool before transferring it to a serving platter. Once cooled, spread the custard evenly on top of the cake.
  6. Arrange the sliced strawberries over the custard for a beautiful presentation.
  7. Slice the cake into wedges and serve it chilled.

Notes

For an extra special touch, serve with whipped cream, powdered sugar, or vanilla ice cream.
