- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 cup custard (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
- Gradually add the flour and milk, alternating between the two, until well combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool before transferring it to a serving platter. Once cooled, spread the custard evenly on top of the cake.
- Arrange the sliced strawberries over the custard for a beautiful presentation.
- Slice the cake into wedges and serve it chilled.
Notes
For an extra special touch, serve with whipped cream, powdered sugar, or vanilla ice cream.
