Ingredients

  • Melted unsalted butter
  • Full-fat cream cheese, softened
  • Granulated sugar
  • Lemon zest
  • Vanilla extract
  • Salt
  • 1 (21-ounce) can strawberry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the cake recipe instructions and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Combine the yellow cake mix and melted butter in a large bowl until fully incorporated.
  3. Transfer the crumb mixture to your prepared baking dish and press it evenly across the bottom.
  4. Beat together the softened cream cheese, sugar, lemon zest, vanilla extract, and salt until completely smooth and creamy.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the prepared crust.
  6. Spoon the strawberry pie filling over the cream cheese layer and spread gently to cover.
