Description

Delightful soft pretzel bites that are warm, chewy, and perfect for dipping.


Ingredients

  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ¾ cups warm milk (or water)
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 9 cups water
  • ½ cup baking soda
  • 1 large egg (mixed with 1 tablespoon of water)

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, sugar, yeast, milk, butter, and salt in a stand mixer bowl.
  2. Mix with a dough hook on medium speed for about 4-5 minutes until a smooth dough forms.
  3. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise in a warm place for 30-60 minutes until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat your oven to 450°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Bring the water and baking soda to a boil in a large pot.
  6. Divide the dough into 12 pieces and roll each into a ¾-inch rope, cutting into 1-2 inch bites.
  7. Drop the bites into boiling water for 30 seconds, then transfer to the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with salt.
  9. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with your choice of dip.

Notes

For additional flavor, try different toppings like sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning.
