Ingredients

  • 100g Butter
  • 150g Brown sugar
  • 2 Eggs
  • 200g Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Baking soda
  • Toffee sauce (made with cream, butter, and sugar)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Grease a baking dish and set aside.
  3. Mix the dates with boiling water and let them soak.
  4. Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  6. Fold in the flour and baking soda.
  7. Stir in the soaked dates along with their water.
  8. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.
  10. Serve warm with toffee sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

This pudding is best served warm with custard or extra toffee sauce.
