- 2 pounds fresh strawberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package (8 ounces) ladyfinger cookies or sponge cake
Instructions
- Mix the sliced strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Allow this mixture to sit for about 30 minutes to release the juices from the strawberries.
- Beat the cream cheese until it’s smooth and creamy.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until fully combined.
- Layer the ladyfinger cookies or sponge cake, followed by the cream mixture, then a layer of strawberries in a serving dish.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with a final layer of strawberries on top.
- Cover the dessert and refrigerate for at least 240 minutes, or preferably overnight, for the best flavor!
Notes
For an enhanced experience, consider garnishing with additional fresh strawberries or a sprig of mint. Chocolate sauce or accompanying desserts can add a delightful touch.
