Description

A visually appealing and delicious layered dessert combining chocolate cake, custard, whipped cream, and fresh berries, perfect for Christmas dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 chocolate cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups of vanilla custard
  • 2 cups of whipped cream
  • 1 cup of mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the instructions. Let it cool completely.
  2. Cut the chocolate cake into cubes.
  3. Layer the cake cubes at the bottom of a large glass bowl or individual serving cups.
  4. Pour a layer of vanilla custard over the cake cubes.
  5. Add a layer of whipped cream on top of the custard.
  6. Sprinkle a layer of mixed berries.
  7. Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the bowl or cup, finishing with whipped cream and a garnish of chocolate shavings.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a refreshing variation, substitute chocolate cake with lemon cake and add lemon curd instead of vanilla custard.
