- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 bell pepper, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato paste
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp mustard
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Soft buns, for serving
- Optional toppings: shredded cheese, pickles
Instructions
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add oil.
- Add the chopped onions, bell pepper, and garlic; sauté until softened.
- Stir in the ground beef and cook until browned.
- Mix in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and brown sugar.
- Season with salt and pepper; let simmer for 20-30 minutes.
- Toast the buns and then spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture onto each bun.
- Serve with optional toppings as desired.
Notes
