- 1 Unbaked 9-Inch Pie Crust
- ½ cup Unsalted Butter (softened)
- 1 cup Granulated Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs
- 3 tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa Powder (sifted)
- ½ cup All-Purpose Flour (sifted)
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- A Pinch of Salt (optional)
- Vanilla Ice Cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Unroll the pie crust and press it into a 9-inch pie plate, crimping or fluting the edges.
- Combine the softened butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl and beat until fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and optional salt until incorporated.
- Sift the cocoa powder and flour into the bowl, then fold them into the wet mixture until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pie crust, smoothing the top.
- Bake in the center of the oven for 30 to 35 minutes until a dry crust forms on top.
- Cool for 10 minutes before slicing into wedges.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use a fine-mesh sieve to ensure no lumps in cocoa and flour. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 3 days.
