Description

A gourmet version of the classic American Turtle Candies, featuring crunchy pecans, smooth caramel, and rich chocolate.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 64 Whole Pecan Halves
  • 11 oz Baking Caramels
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 bag (approx. 11-12 oz) Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Instructions

  1. Line a large, flat baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  2. Gather your pecan halves and arrange 4 together for each turtle.
  3. Repeat this across the sheet, leaving space between clusters.
  4. Place the baking caramels into a bowl and add water.
  5. Microwave on high for 30 seconds, then stir and continue in bursts until smooth.
  6. Spoon 1 tablespoon of caramel over each pecan cluster.
  7. Pour chocolate chips into a dry bowl and microwave in increments, stirring until smooth.
  8. Spoon chocolate over the caramel layer, forming a dome.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 30 minutes to set.
  10. Peel candies off the parchment and serve.

Notes

Sprinkle flaky sea salt over the chocolate layer before freezing for enhanced flavor.
