Description
A delightful and healthier twist on traditional bagels, packed with protein and perfect for breakfast or snacks.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- Pinch of salt (optional)
- 1 cup + 2 tablespoons cottage cheese (2% or 4%)
- 1 egg (optional)
- Toppings: everything seasoning, poppy seeds, sesame seeds
Instructions
- Start by adding the flour to a medium bowl and combining it with the baking powder.
- Make a well in the center of the flour and add the cottage cheese, then mix the dough until it starts to form a chunky consistency.
- Turn the bagel dough onto a well-floured surface and knead it for 1-2 minutes until it becomes a semi-smooth ball.
- Divide the dough into 4 equal sections and roll each into a 6-7 inch log, then connect the ends to form bagels.
- Whisk the egg with a splash of water or milk and lightly brush it over each bagel, adding toppings if desired.
- Preheat your air fryer to 300°F, then place the bagels in the basket and cook for 15-17 minutes, checking for even cooking at around 10 minutes.
- Remove the bagels from the air fryer and let them cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
