Description

A quick and satisfying meal featuring seasoned ground beef, sautéed onions, bell peppers, and melted provolone cheese in hoagie rolls.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 8 slices provolone cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a tablespoon of olive oil.
  2. Add the sliced onions and bell peppers, cooking until softened.
  3. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef.
  4. Cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a wooden spoon.
  5. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Divide the beef mixture among the hoagie rolls and top each with two slices of provolone cheese.
  7. Place under a broiler for a minute or two until the cheese is melted.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

Wrap leftovers in foil or place in an airtight container and refrigerate for 2-3 days. Reheat carefully to avoid soggy rolls.
