A decadent dessert that combines classic tiramisu flavors in a light and fluffy mousse form, perfect for any occasion.

- 1 cup Brewed espresso, cooled
- 2 tablespoons Coffee liqueur (optional)
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 cup Mascarpone cheese
- 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
- 2 Large egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon Cream of tartar
- 1 package Ladyfinger cookies (savoiardi)
- Cocoa powder (for dusting)
- Dark chocolate shavings (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the cooled espresso and coffee liqueur, if using. Set it aside.
- In another bowl, beat the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the mascarpone cheese, sugar, and vanilla, then combine gently.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites with the cream of tartar until stiff peaks form. Carefully incorporate the egg whites into the mascarpone mixture.
- Quickly dip the ladyfinger cookies in the espresso mixture and layer them on the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, then repeat the process, finishing with the mascarpone mixture on top.
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 240 minutes before serving. Dust with cocoa powder and top with dark chocolate shavings, if desired.
Notes
This dessert is best served chilled. For an extra touch, serve it alongside a cup of espresso.
