Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- Oil for frying
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup cream
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: Combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. In another bowl, mix sugar, eggs, and melted butter. Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
- Chill the dough: Refrigerate for at least 60 minutes.
- Shape the donuts: Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness and cut out donut shapes.
- Fry the donuts: Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry donuts for 1-2 minutes on each side. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
- Glaze the donuts: Melt chocolate chips with cream, dip cooled donuts into the glaze, and let them set.
Notes
For a healthier option, bake instead of frying at 350°F for 10-12 minutes. Consider using whole wheat flour or reducing the sugar for healthier alternatives.
