Description

Crispy potato wedges seasoned to perfection, ideal as a side dish or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large russet potatoes (or Yukon Golds)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil (or vegetable oil)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 4 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoons white vinegar or salt (for soaking)
  • Chopped parsley (for garnish)
  • Grated Parmesan cheese (for garnish)
  • Ketchup (for dipping)
  • Garlic aioli (for dipping)
  • Ranch dressing (for dipping)
  • Cheese sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly. Cut each potato in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 3-4 wedges.
  2. Place the wedges in a large bowl of cold water. Add salt or vinegar and soak for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  3. Drain and pat dry the wedges completely using paper towels.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Toss the dry potato wedges until evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange wedges in a single layer and bake for 35-40 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  6. Alternatively, preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and air fry the wedges for 18-20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  7. Once cooked, sprinkle with chopped parsley or Parmesan cheese and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.

Notes

Soaking the wedges helps achieve optimal crunchiness. Don’t overcrowd the baking sheet for best results.
