- Chocolate curls or chocolate pieces (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 9-inch cake pans with parchment paper.
- Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Beat butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
- Alternate adding the dry ingredients with milk and sour cream until the batter is smooth and creamy.
- Divide the batter evenly into the cake pans and bake for 28–32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool completely before frosting.
- For the buttercream, beat butter until fluffy. Gradually add powdered sugar, cream, vanilla, and salt until smooth and thick.
- Frost the cake generously and smooth the sides. Use a piping tip to create bakery-style swirls around the edges.
- For the ganache, heat heavy cream until steaming and pour over chocolate chips. Stir until glossy and smooth.
- Pour the chocolate ganache onto the center of the cake and gently spread outward to create the drip effect.
- Decorate with fresh strawberries, fruit slices, and chocolate pieces for an elegant finish.
- Chill the cake for 20 minutes before slicing for clean layers.

For best taste, allow the cake to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving.
