- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- ½ cup canola oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon table salt
- 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
- ⅓ cup milk
- 1½ cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, canola oil, eggs, and pumpkin puree in a large mixing bowl.
- Sift together the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, all-purpose flour, and dark cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
- Add the dry ingredients gradually to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
- Bake for approximately 65–75 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the bread in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack.
Notes
Optional caramel frosting enhances the flavors but the bread is delicious on its own.
