Description

A rich and moist chocolate pumpkin bread, loaded with chocolate chips and warm spices, perfect for fall baking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup canola oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ½ teaspoon table salt
  • 1¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup dark cocoa powder
  • ⅓ cup milk
  • 1½ cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, canola oil, eggs, and pumpkin puree in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Sift together the baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, all-purpose flour, and dark cocoa powder in a separate bowl.
  4. Add the dry ingredients gradually to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips gently.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for approximately 65–75 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Cool the bread in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack.

Notes

Optional caramel frosting enhances the flavors but the bread is delicious on its own.
