Description

A rich and creamy Chocolate Mousse Cake, perfect for special occasions or a delectable treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 large eggs, separated
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Cocoa powder (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a cake pan.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together in a double boiler or microwave. Allow to cool slightly.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk the egg yolks, sugar, and vanilla until creamy. Stir in the chocolate mixture.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture.
  5. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until fully combined.
  6. Pour the mixture into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until set but still slightly soft in the center.
  8. Allow to cool completely before removing from the pan.
  9. Dust with cocoa powder before serving, if desired.
