Description

This stunning Chocolate Marble Strawberry Drip Cake combines rich chocolate flavors with fresh strawberries, making it a perfect centerpiece for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark cocoa powder
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream
  • Fresh strawberries
  • White chocolate melts
  • Chocolate curls or shards
  • Chocolate wafer sticks
  • Extra ganache for swirling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease and line two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly pour in the hot coffee and stir until fully combined. The batter will be thin, ensuring a moist bakery-style texture.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the pans and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.
  6. For the chocolate buttercream, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar and cocoa powder, then mix in heavy cream and vanilla until fluffy and smooth.
  7. Frost the cooled cake layers and apply a smooth coat around the outside. Use a cake scraper or spatula to create textured horizontal lines around the sides for a stunning bakery-style finish.
  8. Chill the cake for 20 minutes before adding the ganache.
  9. Heat heavy cream until steaming and pour it over the chocolate chips. Allow it to sit for 2 minutes, then stir until glossy and smooth. Spoon the ganache around the top edge to create dramatic drips and spread additional ganache over the top.
  10. Melt white chocolate and drizzle spiral lines across the top. Use a toothpick to drag through the lines and create an elegant marble swirl design.
  11. Decorate with fresh strawberries, chocolate shards, curls, and wafer sticks for the ultimate presentation.
  12. Refrigerate briefly before slicing for clean layers and a rich, fudgy texture.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter and use high-quality cocoa powder for better flavor.
