Description

A flavorful dressing perfect for sandwiches, salads, marinades, and dips.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup soybean oil
  • 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the oils: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the soybean oil and extra virgin olive oil until well blended.
  2. Add the vinegar: Slowly pour in the red wine vinegar while whisking continuously to emulsify the mixture.
  3. Mix in the spices: Add oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and sugar. Whisk until fully incorporated.
  4. Taste and adjust: Taste the dressing and adjust seasoning as necessary with salt or sugar.
  5. Store and serve: Transfer the dressing to a glass jar with a tight-fitting lid, shaking well before each use. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
