- 1 box Yellow Cake Mix
- 1 cup Unsalted Butter, melted (2 sticks)
- 1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Prep the oven and dish: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or nonstick spray.
- Layer the fruit: Pour apple pie filling into the prepared dish and spread evenly. Sprinkle ground cinnamon and nutmeg over the apples.
- Add the dry cake mix: Pour the yellow cake mix evenly over the apples without stirring.
- Drizzle the melted butter: Pour the melted butter over the dry cake mix to cover as much surface area as possible.
- Bake to golden perfection: Bake for 40-45 minutes until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
- Rest and serve: Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving warm with ice cream.
Notes
For best results, avoid cheap apple pie filling and resist stirring the layers together while preparing the dump cake.
